RALLYLEGEND MOVES TO A NEW DATE: FROM 19th TO 22nd OCTOBER, 2017
Luis Moya will be Rallylegend official ambassador
The Organizers working on a new format
Republic of San Marino. New logistical and organizational needs, combined with the opportunity to avoid coincidences and give the opportunity to many fans not to lose the awaited event. For this reason, and after a thorough reflection, Rallylegend Organizers decided to postpone the San Marino event to a new date: October 19th to 22nd , 2017. A week later, in practice, with respect to the originally established date.
In addition, Rallylegend organizing staff has a new member: Luis Moya. The Spanish co driver is a “new entry” of great prestige: world rally champion in 1990 and 1992 with Carlos Sainz, now a great supporter and an expert of Rallylegend. His role will be “ambassador” of San Marino event in the world and in the World Rally Championship. Thanks to the great respect he has in the environment and his familiarity with many champions of yesterday and today, he will be an important bridge to drivers and teams.
The organizing team is also working on a 2017 format full of new features. The event will last four days, but with a slimmer and more attractive program. The last day will be more public oriented with activities where the protagonists will be present fans.

THE FINAL WINNERS OF THE 14TH RALLYLEGEND 2016 ARE RIOLO-RAPPA (AUDI QUATTRO) IN THE HISTORIC, “LUCKY”-PONS (LANCIA DELTA INTEGRALE) IN THE MYTH AND PEDERSOLI-TOMASI (CITROEN C4 WRC) IN THE WRC/KIT. FINAL RESULTS FROZEN AT SPECIAL STAGE 12.
ASSIGNED VICTORY AND PRIZES ALSO IN THE “GOLF GTI 40 YEARS OF FUN”, IN THE “PIRELLI JUMP IN THE LEGEND” AND IN THE “ANTIGUA LEGEND CUP”
Republic of San Marino. Anticipated finale for Rallylegend 2016, following the decision of the organizers after the dramatic accident occurred during SS 12 “San Marino 1”, when 2 Special Stages were missing from the end.
The final results have been therefore frozen at the moment of the interruption, the prize-giving ceremony cancelled in sign of mourning, and the 14th Rallylegend reports to the files three winners with prestigious names: Salvatore Riolo, “Lucky” and Luca Pedersoli.
Other prizes were assigned, even though not celebrated with the podium party, those of three particular classifications: Volkswagen, Pirelli and Antigua Cup. Prestigious Eberhard&Co watches have been assigned to the absolute winners of Rallylegend.

RALLYLEGEND: RIOLO, “LUCKY” AND PEDERSOLI ARE THE WINNERS OF THE THREE CATEGORIES
The final rankings of Rallylegend 2016 tell that the Sicilian Totò Riolo together with Gianfranco Rappa won the “Historic” category, with the ever fascinating Audi Quattro. Riolo already holds two titles at Rallylegend in the early editions. He took command of operations on slippery and wet surfaces on the second stage and did not leave it till the end. The San Marino driver Marco Bianchini and his co-driver Daiana Darderi could do nothing with only two-wheel drive of their Lancia 037, who finished second, after winning the opening night stage, on Friday. The third step of the podium went to another driver from the Titan Republic, Giuliano Calzolari, co-driven by Corrado Costa, aboard the Talbot Lotus generously "given" by Federico Ormezzano. A car that he practically got to know on race. His toughest opponent was still a San Marino driver, Davide Cesarini, with the Ford Escort Rs 1600, who had to stop for the break-down of a suspension, though he rejoined the race with the super rally formula the day after.
Among the "Myth" the evergreen "Lucky", co-driven by a great navigator as Fabrizia Pons, was practically always in the lead with his Lancia Delta Intergrale 16V, but his victory was not so easy. His teammate with an identical car, "Pedro" together with Baldaccini was an uncompromising opponent until the end, despite the consequences of a jump a bit too brave. And the four-time European "historic" champion also had to watch their backs from a perky Andrea Navarra. Seven years of almost total inactivity seemed indeed to have influenced not much on the champion from Cesena. With Renzo Casazza next to him and behind the wheel of the Subaru Impreza Wrx, Navarra was debuting at Rallylegend, but he quickly regained his shine of the past. He classified third, just some seconds from "Pedro." In fourth and fifth place there are two BMW M3, disadvantaged by the slimy and wet surface, but very well led by Mauro Miele, with Beltrame, and by the Czech Vaclav Pech, with Uhel. Only sixth Piero Longhi, with Santini, but justified by the fact that they have had a problem with a hub of the Toyota Celica St 205 right from the start. He preceded the German Armin Schwarz, with Zenz, on Toyota Celica St 165 of some seconds. Among the good things to highlight there is the ninth place overall of the two cousins Davide and Roberto Gasperoni, with the small Peugeot 106 and despite the break of the hydraulic power steering in the first stage.
Victory for Luca Pedersoli and Anna Tomasi, with the Citroen C4 WRC in the “WRC/KIT” category, where they already took the lead during the first stage in the night, preceding the Czech Stepan Vojtech and Ernst at the end, at the wheel of an older Peugeot 206 WRC. He has long battled with the Belgian Philippe Olczyk, co-driver De Bolle , also on a Peugeot 206 WRC a bit more recent. Fourth in the category, but first among the under-performing two-wheel drive cars, was the French champion Gilles Panizzi, debuting at Rallylegend, with Audrey Orphelin to read the notes on the Peugeot 306 Maxi, a car that he took to great performance.
LEGEND STARS: SHOW INTO THE SHOW
Champions such as Miki Biasion, with the Eberhard & Co. Lancia 037, Hayden Paddon, with the Hyundai i20 WRC Hmi team, Russell Brookes, with Vauxhall Chevette, Manfred Pommer, with the Audi Quattro, along with a promising German young driver as the Skoda Fabian Kreim, with many other characters or enthusiastic collectors who put their fascinating cars on Special Stages and step back into history: all this is the category of the "Legend Stars", spectacular appetizer to the real rally, which offered an unbelievable show that the large audience highly appreciated. No timing of the special stages, with the sole objective of driving in the most possible acrobatic way, almost all the players behind the wheel of "LS" get to the bottom of their driving repertoire. This year a group of English enthusiasts among the Legend Stars brought some rare and unusual cars such as Toyota Celica RA40, Ford Escort Twin Cam, Chevrolet Firenza, Peugeot 205 T16, Vauxhall Chevette.
VW GOLF GTI 40 YEARS OF FUN CELEBRATION: THE WINNERS FIORINI-PARMA WILL BE GUESTS AT THE RALLY SWEDEN.
All Volkswagen Golf GTI cars entered in the Myth and Historic categories have automatically taken part to the "GTI 40 Years of Fun Celebration". At the end of the rally a single classification including all the Golf GTIs of the race has been prepared, and the hunt to the inviting first prize saw a San Marino team triumph, Andrea Fiorini and Gaia Parma with a 1983 Golf GTI. The two lucky ones will be Volkswagen guests at the Rally Sweden 2017: the prize includes flight, hotel, the Volkswagen VIP Program during the rally, access to the Volkswagen Hospitality in the WRC service park. The second crew Piscaglia-Angelini won the Limited Edition models of the Volkswagen Golf GTI, while the third-Nerobutto-Nerobutto won a voucher for the purchase of spare parts from Volkswagen Classic, of the value of € 250,00.
“PIRELLI JUMP IN THE LEGEND”: THE MOST SPECTACULAR JUMP IS BY “LUCKY”- PONS’S DELTA
The return of a prestigious brand like Pirelli has found its place in Rallylegend with an initiative in line with the style of the event. That is how the "Pirelli jump in the legend trophy" was born. There was a qualified jury that judged and rewarded the most beautiful jumps, in two particular points of SS6 Le Tane and SS7 The Legend. Prize for the first qualified were four tires and they went to "Lucky"-Pons (Lancia Delta Integrale), while other awards also went to the second ranked crew Toccaceli-Rosati (Talbot Lotus) and the third "Pedro"- Baldaccini (Lancia Delta Integrale).
ANTIGUA LEGEND CUP TO “LUCKY” - PONS
Since some years now, with the motto "Go like the wind and win a dream holiday", a team competing in Rallylegend wins the coveted prize of a dream holiday of ten days to the Caribbean for two people. Taking inspiration from the sailing competitions and with a coefficient of time allocation, the award goes to the fastest crew. And in the 2016 edition the crew "Lucky" and Fabrizia Pons were the quickest on their Lancia Delta Integrale.
THE VW POLO R WRC LUXURY FORERUNNER WITH MARCUS GRONHOLM.
This year’s edition saw Marcus Gronholm play the role of the luxury forerunner. The two-time world rally champion is now VW tester in the world rally championship. With the world rally champion Volkswagen Polo R WRC he also managed to give vent to his always untouched class, offering essays of his always spectacular driving.
HAYDEN PADDON: GREAT SHOW WITH THE HYUNDAI I20 WRC OF THE HMI TEAM
He has certainly not spared himself: Hayden Paddon, the official Hyundai Motorsport driver was "lent" to HMI team to offer his show with the Hyundai i20 WRC. And the slippery road surface exalted even more the acrobatic skills of the New Zealand driver, now definitely a crowd favorite at Rallylegend. Much appreciated also for his great availability, always willing to satisfy the fans with a picture or an autograph.
IL CORDOGLIO DEGLI ORGANIZZATORI
As we know, unfortunately the big rally party that involved tens of thousands of fans for three days ended in pain. A deep grief immediately expressed after the mournful event by the Organizers of Rallylegend for the death of Enrico Anselmino. He was an avid rally fan who had transmitted his enthusiasm to the son and to his partner, also involved in the accident. Other spectators were involved, their conditions are gradually improving with the passing of days, some have already been discharged. They are all constantly followed by the Civil and Sports Authorities of San Marino for all their needs.
Great sorrow also expressed for the crew Enrico Bonaso and Alice Palazzi, who went off the road in the special stage 12: they are deeply affected and in shock over the accident.

When Alitalia used to fly in rallies
A livery, symbol of great history. It is the history of Alitalia, that was the author of liveries during the ‘70s and ‘80s for Fiat and Lancia, the Italian pride on the roads of the world. A wonderful winning era that will be brought back during the 2016 edition of Rallylegend. “When Alitalia used to fly in rallies” is the title of a wide container of passion, which will feature this year the event on the Titan’s Republic with debates, original shootings of that time, presence of drivers and an exhibition of cars that made the history of the brand and of the specialty.
In short, the stage will see parading the Lancia Stratos, the Lancia Beta Coupè, the Fiat Ritmo 75 and of course the Fiat 131 Abarth, the latter being the absolute protagonist in the season of its first 40 years.
An anniversary that will be celebrated also with the exhibition of ex-works cars in their original liveries, the same that crowded the dreams of many drivers and generations of enthusiasts.
