JEAN JOSEPH AMONG THE CLASSICS, SENRA-RAMOS AMONG THE WRC, AND ROSATI AMONG THE HISTORIC: FIRST RALLYLEGEND LEADERS AT THE END OF DAY 1
At the end of Day 1 of Rallylegend, France, Spain, and the Republic of San Marino lead the three race classifications. Yesterday, Simone Faggioli received the Eberhard&Co Award for lifetime achievement.
The first “Classic” ranking at Rallylegend is dominated by France: Simon Jean Joseph reached 1st place, co-driven by Pivato, on a 1995 Subaru Impreza 555, which also leads the “McRae Subaru Group A Rally Trophy.” Francoise Delecour, another great French champion, took second place with Roche and the ever-aggressive Peugeot 306 Maxi, 15 seconds behind, followed by Italian Gianpietro Bendotti, with Vaerini, just over a second behind.
The good results he had shown by winning the “Sprint Legend Race” were confirmed by Spaniard Victor Senra Carreira, with Ramos Torrente at notes (Hyundai i20 Coupé WRC Plus), who currently leads the “WRC” standings, ahead of Italian Luca Pedersoli, with Anna Tomasi, on an identical car. Another WRC Plus driver in third place, the Citroen C3 of Czech Stepan Vojtech, with Ernst.
The San Marino flag flies in the “Historic” classification, with Rallylegend veteran and multiple winner Stefano Rosati, with Costa at his side (1981 Talbot Lotus), ahead of Enrico Ercolani Volta, with Zanotti (1982 BMW 320 E21). The German Thiele-Thiele crew in a 1976 Porsche 911 complete the podium.
EBERHARD&CO AWARD FOR SIMONE FAGGIOLI’S LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT
The most prestigious watch could only be the Champion model. Thus, Eberhard&Co, loyal partner and official timekeeper of Rallylegend, chose to recognize the outstanding career in European and Italian hill climbs Simone Faggioli, the first Italian winner, in the United States, of this year’s iconic Pikes Peak. The precious trophy was awarded by the two-time world rally champion Miki Biasion, an Eberhard & Co. spokesperson, along with CEO Mario Peserico.
TOMORROW, SUNDAY, OCTOBER 5TH, A GREAT SHOW CLOSURE
The final day of Rallylegend’s sporting action will be Day 3 of the race. Two runs on the “Le Tane” special stage, interspersed with “The Legend,” which will also feature parades, hot laps, and various performances.
The arrival at the Rally Village, with the award ceremony, will be the spectacular closing event of this 23rd edition of Rallylegend.
