SANDRO MUNARI TRIBUTE: FIVE ORIGINAL CARS AT THE RALLYLEGEND VILLAGE
The Rallylegend Village dedicates a special chapter to Sandro Munari, who passed away on 27 February 2026 in Bologna, at the age of 85. The loss of the “Dragon” has left a great void across the whole world of motorsport, which remembers him as one of the greatest pioneers and symbols of the history of world rallying. Four victories at the Monte Carlo Rally and a European Rally Championship title link him forever to cars that became legends, such as the Fulvia HF and the Stratos HF.
For the occasion, five of his original cars will be on display: the Lancia Stratos with which he won the 1977 Monte Carlo Rally, the Stratos of the 1975 Safari, the Lancia Fulvia Barchetta of the 1969 Mugello, the Fiat 131 Abarth of the 1978 Sanremo Rally and the Lancia Fulvia HF of the 1973 European Rally Championship, the same car that won the 1973 San Martino di Castrozza Rally and the European title. A once in a lifetime opportunity to relive up close one of the most glorious eras in rally history.
The central moment of the tribute is the “Munari Tribute” Expo, on Friday 9 October at 4:00 pm, hosted by Nicola Villani, with Markku Alén, Miki Biasion, Stig Blomqvist and Franco Cunico attending. During the Expo, the book “Corso Marche 38: Il Regno degli Uomini Ombra” will also be presented, dedicated to the history of the Fiat-Lancia Racing Department and told through the accounts of the mechanics who worked there, with a second presentation on Saturday 10 October at 10:30 am.
ALEX FIORIO TRIBUTE: THE MEMORY OF A CHAMPION
Rallylegend also pays tribute to Alex Fiorio, the great champion who recently passed away. Son of Cesare Fiorio, the historic sporting director of Fiat, Lancia and Ferrari, Alex raced for years in the World Rally Championship, winning the Group N world title in 1987 with the Lancia Delta HF 4WD and finishing as runner-up world champion in 1989, behind the other Group A Lancia Delta Integrale, driven by Miki Biasion, delivering memorable sporting achievements.
Rallylegend, capturing the passion of all rally fans, wanted to dedicate a special tribute to its friend Alex Fiorio. The Alex Fiorio Tribute takes place on Saturday 10 October at 11:00 am on the podium, with Claudia Peroni recounting the moments dedicated to the champion.
Some of the most significant cars of his career will be present: the Lancia Delta 4WD of the 1987 Sanremo Rally, the one of Alex’s debut with Group A cars, the Fiat Uno Turbo of the 1986 Monte Carlo Rally, the BMW 318 is of the Italian Rally 2 Litre Championship, with which he raced from 1996, when he finished second overall, to 1998, and the Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart of the 2001 Italian Rally Championship.
Joining Claudia Peroni on the podium will be friends and protagonists of his world: Gigi Pirollo, Miki Biasion, Markku Alén, Andrea Aghini, Andrea Navarra, Piero Longhi and Piero Liatti. A memory, at this edition of Rallylegend, of a champion who wrote indelible pages in the history of Italian rally.

“These are two different tributes with the same spirit: to bring back to life the cars and the protagonists who made rally history. It will be an opportunity to feel emotion and to be together, the best way to remember two great champions.”
VITO PIARULLI
Rallylegend Event manager
“Sandro Munari and Alex Fiorio wrote fundamental pages in the history of Italian rallying, and it is an honour for us to dedicate a tribute at Rallylegend to both of them. We want to remember them in front of the fans, with their cars and with the people who shared those years with them.”
