Biasion, Blomqvist and the Delta S4 Tribute at Rallylegend

His career as a driver ended almost twenty-five years ago, but Markku Alen remains in the hearts of fans young and old. The champion’s success came largely with vehicles from the Fiat-Lancia group, with loyal navigator “Kikki” Kivimaki at his side. A very fast driver, Alen also stood out for his friendly demeanour and unique language, known as “alenese”, characteristics that have made him unforgettable. Alen has been linked to Rallylegend from the early days and will be back in the Republic San Marino this year, to the delight of the many fans who still admire him.

Also very much at home at Rallylegend is Miki Biasion. The popular two-time world rally champion is also an ambassador of the San Marino event, making himself available to his many fans over the course of the four-day event. He will no doubt thrill the crowd with his Lancia 037 but, as always, there are surprises in store.

Although he hails from chilly Sweden, 1984 World Rally Champion Stig Blomqvist will warm up and truly ignite the crowd at Rallylegend, showing off stunts and power slides with the abundant horsepower of the ever-alluring Audi Quattro S1, which will be among the most admired of the Legend Stars.

For Alen, Kivimaki, Biasion (and Blomqvist, who will surely drop by), the lure of the special “Seventies” event—those years when their extraordinary careers began—will be hard to resist. They will be there to recount those fabulous times.

“DELTA S4 TRIBUTE” – TRIBUTE TO THE ICONIC GROUP B LANCIA

Rallylegend couldn’t miss such an important anniversary.

“Delta S4 Tribute” is a homage to Lancia’s iconic Group B car, presented exactly 40 years ago, that marked the start of a short but intense era. In 1986, Alen-Kivimaki came close to the world title, while in the same year Miki Biasion, with Siviero, claimed his first world championship victory at Rally Argentina with the very same S4. Several S4s will be on display in Rally Village, where Alen, Kivimaki and Biasion, together with other champions of that era, will share memories and anecdotes, before seeing the Delta S4s in action on Thursday in the Sprint Legend Race, and then in the double Parade on Saturday and Sunday, during the spectacular “The Legend” stages.
